Actress Aishwarya Lekshmi has opened up about her academic journey. In a recent interview she revealed that despite completing her MBBS degree, she has never had the opportunity to work as a doctor. The actress said in a recent interview that she devoted years to earning her medical qualification but eventually pursued an entirely different profession.Speaking during a promotional interview with Ginger Media for ‘Gatta Kusthi 2’, Aishwarya opened up on how life unexpectedly led her into cinema instead of medicine.
Acting was never part of the plan for Aishwarya Lekshmi
During the interaction, Aishwarya spoke about her transition from medicine to films. While she admitted that she has always loved the medical profession she described her acting career as something that happened unexpectedly.She said, “I am a doctor. I completed my MBBS degree. But after that, I never got the opportunity to treat people. I worked very hard to pass my exams. I truly love being a doctor. But I became an actress quite unexpectedly. I believe it was God’s plan. Becoming a doctor is not easy; it takes at least eight years.”
From modelling to Malayalam cinema
Before making her mark in films, Aishwarya Lekshmi worked as a successful model. She entered Malayalam cinema in 2017 with Nivin Pauly’s ‘Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela’.It was Aashiq Abu’s ‘Mayaanadhi’ that transformed her career. Her performance as Appu received widespread appreciation from both audiences and critics.
‘Gatta Kusthi 2’ opens with a decent start
Meanwhile, Aishwarya’s latest release, ‘Gatta Kusthi 2’, has made a good beginning at the domestic box office. According to Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 2.55 crore India net on its opening day.The sequel has also recorded an estimated Rs 2.93 crore India gross. The film registered an overall occupancy of 26% across 2,109 shows on Day 1.Directed by Chella Ayyavu, ‘Gatta Kusthi 2’ reunites Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi after the success of the original film.
