The Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, has released the notification for the Andhra Pradesh Special Teacher Eligibility Test (AP Special TET) 2026 for in-service teachers. The special TET is being conducted for teachers who were appointed before 2011 but do not have a valid TET certificate.

The AP Special TET 2026 exam will be held from October 11 to October 21, 2026. The test will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode in two sessions.Session I will be held from 9:30 am to 12 noon, while Session II will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5 pm.

AP Special TET 2026: Who can apply?

The special examination is open to in-service teachers who were appointed on a regular or minimum time scale basis before 2011 and do not currently have a valid TET certificate.Eligible teachers can be working in government schools, local body schools, Andhra Pradesh Residential Educational Institutions Society (APREIS), government welfare residential schools, AP model schools, private aided institutions and schools under other government departments.Teachers teaching Classes I to V have to appear for Paper I. Those teaching Classes VI to VIII have to appear for Paper II. Teachers who want to move from Classes I to V to Classes VI to VIII, and meet the required qualifications, will have to appear for both papers.
