The Bank of Baroda has started the online registration process for recruitment to 2,482 Local Bank Officer (LBO) posts. Eligible candidates can apply for the posts from August 18 to September 7, 2026.The recruitment is being conducted for regular appointments in the Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMG/S-I). The recruitment covers states including Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura and West Bengal.Candidates can apply for one state only. The merit list will be prepared separately for each state and category.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates applying for the Local Bank Officer post must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution.The age of the candidate should be between 21 and 30 years as on August 1, 2026.Candidates must also have at least one year of post-qualification experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India.Experience in the clerical cadre will not be counted for eligibility.
Local language requirement
Candidates must be able to read, write, speak and understand the local language of the state for which they are applying.Candidates shortlisted through the online examination will have to qualify the Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT). Those who studied the required local language in Class 10 or 12 and can produce the relevant marksheet or certificate will not have to appear for the language test.
Selection process
The selection process will include an online examination, followed by further selection stages such as a Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview, as decided by the bank.The online examination will have 120 questions carrying 120 marks, with a total duration of two hours.

The English Language section will be qualifying in nature and its marks will not be counted towards the final merit list. The other sections will be available in English and Hindi. No marks will be deducted for questions left unanswered.Candidates shortlisted for the next stage will be called for Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview based on their performance in the online examination.
